CPHA 2020 Step Challenge

Step into a new decade.

March 9 - April 12, 2020

Step Challenge Participants:

You did it! Congratulations on stepping up to 5 weeks of physical activity in the 2020 CPHA Step Challenge. In total, we have pledged 42,351,127 steps towards APHA’s Billion Step Challenge. Terrific job to each and every one of you!

The pandemic has surfaced here in Connecticut during the course of this Step Challenge. We hope this opportunity has allowed you to reflect, deflect, and be active in a time of such stress, uncertainty, and prolonged sedentariness. Many participants expressed the value of engaging in daily exercise as a way to be active, enjoy spring, and boost endorphins – staying active also boosts your immune system. Here are some tips from the WHO about how to stay active during this time of social distancing.

Congratulations to the Farmington High Steppers, the winners of the 2020 CPHA Step Challenge! The Farmington High Steppers have achieved the highest total amount of steps, with 14,307,740 steps and an incredible 311,038 steps per member!

Second and third place are held by JWU Public Health with 5,839,944 steps and StepInCHIP with 5,571,004 steps . 👟👟👟
