Public Health Nurse I: School Year (Full Time 35 hours per week, 10 months)

The City of Meriden, Department of Health and Human Services, is hiring several Public Health
Nurse I (Full Time, 35 hours per week, 10 months) to work in a school health office. These
positions would start in August 2019, with an initial 2 week orientation being offered in May

This position consists of varied public health nursing duties under the supervision of the Public
Health Nurse Administrator. The Public Health Nurse I is responsible for administering
immunizations and health screenings, maintaining accurate records, interpreting and complying
with laws, regulations, and ordinances regarding public health work, and preparing narrative
and statistical reports as needed.

The candidate must have graduated from a recognized nursing school and/or a recognized
college or university with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, following a course of study including
approved programs in public health nursing. The candidate must have a Registered Nurse
license in the State of Connecticut. Starting salary is $32.15 per hour.
