Participating Teams to Come!

The American Public Health Association (APHA) has challenged Americans to collectively walk 1 billion steps by the end of National Public Health Week (April 1-7, 2019), a time to raise awareness of what it takes to improve everyone's health, from clean air to good nutrition to sound health policies.

The 2018 CPHA Step Challenge was such a success last year that we met and passed our goal of 100,000,000 steps . We hope you will join us for the 2019 CPHA Step Challenge and help us take our step record to new heights.

Instructions for Team Captains:

  1. Document your team's steps here.
  2. Have your team members use a step count tracker app or a pedometer to track their steps.
  3. Ensure that you team members send you their step counts each week.
  4. Download the excel document here and at the end of these directions to track your team's weekly step counts.
  5. Report your weekly step counts on every Monday of the Step Challenge through the 2019 Recording Steps fill- in below.
  6. Enjoy being healthy and knowing that you are positive influence on public health!
  7. We encourage you to Mentor and Move.  This is a great time to walk and talk about public health issues and strategies to make the community a better place to live, work, play and grow up. Please visit the CPHA NPHW page to learn how to walk with students in your area.
  8. Finally, share pictures with us on Facebook and Twitter and tag us at #CPHAStepChallenge.
